This interactive exhibition was installed in the Milrace Fusion Gallery. Using an infrared camera, I developed a program that tracked an infrared LED embedded within a hand-built controller. Users could trigger the LED with a mechanical button and then begin painting with their digital brush. Using theater curtains to create an enclosed, immersive space, the canvas was projected in front of the users. A custom soundscape was created and played through speakers to heighten this unique encounter. While the Microsoft Paint display window and impressionistic paintings provided familiarity and structure, these elements were distorted and abstracted to create glitching, psychedelic imagery. A focus on immersive experiences, interactivity, and structure with abstraction was central to this project.
