Signs of Life in Eugene, OR was installed in The Gordon Hotel lobby in June 2025. The piece celebrates the often overlooked and undervalued industries and businesses of the Eugene area through a dynamic video collage of local signage, framed through the lens of Americana.

Drawing inspiration from the city’s history — including Hotel Founder Gordon Obie’s career as a sign painter — this piece merges my background in digital art with the Gordon’s modern industrial setting, honoring the beauty of a hidden yet iconic aspect of the local urban landscape.

The piece was largely composed in Adobe After Effects, with well over one thousand signs photographed and edited in Photoshop. Only a select hundred were used in the final composition.
